Section 4 — First Aid Measures

Skin ContactRemove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Eye ContactImmediately flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids open. Seek immediate medical attention.
InhalationRemove person to fresh air immediately. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
IngestionDo not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Seek immediate medical attention. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Notes to PhysicianTreat symptomatically. Epoxy sensitization may cause delayed allergic reactions. Silica dust exposure — monitor for respiratory effects with long-term exposure.

Suitable Extinguishing MediaCO₂, dry chemical, foam, water fog
Unsuitable MediaDirect water stream on burning material
Combustion ProductsCarbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, amine vapors
Protective EquipmentFull protective gear and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for firefighters

Section 6 — Accidental Release Measures

  • Ventilate area. Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection, respirator).
  • Contain spill with inert absorbent material (sand, vermiculite, or dry earth). Do not use sawdust.
  • Collect material in labeled, closeable containers for disposal.
  • Do not allow material to enter drains, waterways, or soil.
  • Dispose of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Section 7 — Handling & Storage

Handling:

  • Use only in well-ventilated areas or with local exhaust ventilation.
  • Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product.
  • Mix only the quantity that can be applied within the pot life (approx. 30–45 min at 77°F).

Storage:

  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area between 50°F and 90°F (10°C–32°C).
  • Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
  • Store away from heat sources, open flames, and incompatible materials.
  • Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture in original unopened containers.

Section 8 — Exposure Controls / Personal Protection

Respiratory ProtectionHalf-face respirator with organic vapor / P100 combination cartridges during mixing and application. Full-face SCBA if ventilation is inadequate.
Hand ProtectionChemical-resistant nitrile gloves (minimum 0.15 mm thickness). Replace immediately if torn or contaminated.
Eye / Face ProtectionSafety glasses with side shields minimum; chemical splash goggles recommended.
Skin ProtectionLong sleeves, chemical-resistant apron. Barrier cream on exposed skin.
VentilationLocal exhaust ventilation at point of application. General dilution ventilation for enclosed spaces.
Silica (TLV-TWA)ACGIH TLV: 0.025 mg/m³ respirable crystalline silica. Avoid generating dust during sanding of cured material.

Section 9 — Physical & Chemical Properties

Appearance (mixed)Blue paste
OdorMild amine odor
Mix Ratio (by volume)2:1 (Part A : Part B)
Density (mixed)Approx. 1.6–1.8 g/cm³
Solubility in WaterNegligible (uncured); insoluble (cured)
VOC Content< 50 g/L
Boiling PointNot applicable (paste)
Vapor PressureNegligible at ambient temperature

Section 13 — Disposal Considerations

  • Uncured material: dispose of as hazardous waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (EPA 40 CFR Part 261).
  • Cured material: generally non-hazardous solid waste; verify with local regulations before disposal.
  • Do not pour uncured material down drains or into waterways.
  • Empty containers: allow to cure fully, then dispose of as solid waste or recycle per local requirements.

Section 15 — Regulatory Information

  • SARA Title III Section 313: Epoxy resin component may be reportable.
  • TSCA: All components are listed on the TSCA inventory.
