Section 3 — Composition / Information on Ingredients
| Component | CAS Number | Concentration (wt%) | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Epoxy resin (Part A) | 25068-38-6 | 40–60% | Skin sensitizer, irritant |
| Polyamine hardener (Part B) | 2855-13-2 | 15–25% | Corrosive, sensitizer |
| Ceramic / silica filler | 14808-60-7 | 20–35% | IARC Group 1 (respirable crystalline silica — avoid dust inhalation) |
| Reactive diluent | 68609-97-2 | 5–10% | Irritant |
| Pigment (blue) | Proprietary | < 2% | Non-hazardous |
Section 4 — First Aid Measures
| Skin Contact | Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. |
| Eye Contact | Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids open. Seek immediate medical attention. |
| Inhalation | Remove person to fresh air immediately. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist. |
| Ingestion | Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Seek immediate medical attention. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. |
| Notes to Physician | Treat symptomatically. Epoxy sensitization may cause delayed allergic reactions. Silica dust exposure — monitor for respiratory effects with long-term exposure. |
Section 5 — Fire Fighting Measures
| Flash Point | Part A: > 200°F (93°C); Part B: > 150°F (66°C) |
| Flammability | Not classified as flammable under normal storage conditions |
| Suitable Extinguishing Media | CO₂, dry chemical, foam, water fog |
| Unsuitable Media | Direct water stream on burning material |
| Combustion Products | Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, amine vapors |
| Protective Equipment | Full protective gear and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for firefighters |
Section 6 — Accidental Release Measures
- Ventilate area. Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection, respirator).
- Contain spill with inert absorbent material (sand, vermiculite, or dry earth). Do not use sawdust.
- Collect material in labeled, closeable containers for disposal.
- Do not allow material to enter drains, waterways, or soil.
- Dispose of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Section 7 — Handling & Storage
Handling:
- Use only in well-ventilated areas or with local exhaust ventilation.
- Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product.
- Mix only the quantity that can be applied within the pot life (approx. 30–45 min at 77°F).
Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area between 50°F and 90°F (10°C–32°C).
- Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
- Store away from heat sources, open flames, and incompatible materials.
- Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture in original unopened containers.
Section 8 — Exposure Controls / Personal Protection
| Respiratory Protection | Half-face respirator with organic vapor / P100 combination cartridges during mixing and application. Full-face SCBA if ventilation is inadequate. |
| Hand Protection | Chemical-resistant nitrile gloves (minimum 0.15 mm thickness). Replace immediately if torn or contaminated. |
| Eye / Face Protection | Safety glasses with side shields minimum; chemical splash goggles recommended. |
| Skin Protection | Long sleeves, chemical-resistant apron. Barrier cream on exposed skin. |
| Ventilation | Local exhaust ventilation at point of application. General dilution ventilation for enclosed spaces. |
| Silica (TLV-TWA) | ACGIH TLV: 0.025 mg/m³ respirable crystalline silica. Avoid generating dust during sanding of cured material. |
Section 9 — Physical & Chemical Properties
| Appearance (mixed) | Blue paste |
| Odor | Mild amine odor |
| Mix Ratio (by volume) | 2:1 (Part A : Part B) |
| Density (mixed) | Approx. 1.6–1.8 g/cm³ |
